The Club

The Club was formed on Oct 1st 2000 to take over from Barclays Bank Fencing Club which was originally started in the 1930's. The Club can cater for all types of adult fencers from beginners to keen competitors.

Most of our Members fence because they enjoy the mental as well as physical challenge which the sport offers and they also see it as an out of the ordinary part of their fitness programme.

We have professional coaches who take each Member through the intricacies of thrust, parry and Prise de Fer.

Being one of the best kept secrets of London, the membership in our club still costs only £ 30 a month. This membership fee is payable by standing order for a possible 130 sessions p.a including coaching.

We fence all three weapons: foil, epee and sabre and meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm at St Alphage House, St Alphage Gardens, London EC2. There is no fencing over the Christmas/New Year period (but a fair bit of partying instead).

The Club offers 5 beginners courses a year but these can be heavily over-subscribed. Alternative beginner courses are held at London Fencing Club. You can find out the details here.

In the meanwhile why not come and see us in action - just send us an e-mail to arrange a visit.
